Aftersales Support Executive

Job Description

About the role:

Accurate, dedicated and knowledgeable, our Aftersales team are focussed on maximising sales and new business development opportunities. The primary purpose of this job is to support the internal Aftersales Manager (AM) by taking responsibility for incoming enquiries assigned by the AM, dealing with quotations and assisting the AM to ensure our customers are cared for and that this side of the business grows.

What will I be accountable for?

New Customer Development

  • Responding rapidly (within 2 hours) to incoming requests for Aftersales requests from
  • Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date log of all despatches to customers and following them up in a timely manner to a) ensure satisfaction and b) gain further business in the form of aftersales work.
  • Handle enquiries for spares and service given by the AM, providing rapid quotations for customers and following up to get the Working with the relevant teams to ensure on time delivery.
  • Achieving sales growth in this side of the

 

Existing Customer Development

  • Planning, preparing, and visiting existing customers, if required
  • Providing a strong account management customer enquiry service for all of your allocated accounts:
    • Managing enquiries by phone initially
    • Complete quotation follow ups
  • Proactively request referrals from existing clients
  • Collaborating well with other function managers

 

Administration

  • Attending at and fully contributing to all weekly sales meetings
  • Attendance at the daily Huddle meetings with Sales Director
  • Managing emails and referring appropriate emails to the Operations team
  • Following all Health and Safety procedures as outlined in the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring a tidy and safe workplace at all times
  • Carefully maintaining Coveya vehicles and cleanliness at all times and adhering to the Company Vehicle Policy
  • Maintain CRM daily with details of customer contact, activity, opportunities and pipeline management

Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our business on a Contract basis in Bristol. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Mechanical Engineering and have excellent interpersonal skills. They will be able to liaise with stakeholders professionally. They will ensure they always work to the highest standards satisfying the company’s and customer’s requirements by driving products from design, through to prototyping and manufacture whilst meeting the customer/client needs. They will be able to work in a team alongside the engineering, production, contracts, and sales employees and be able to take ownership of the technical aspects of projects. Responsibilities 

  • Use Solidworks software to design engineering-level CAD models, assemblies, and drawings including the ability to develop bills of materials.
  • Develop new products and do design briefs in collaboration with all departments working closely with internal and external stakeholders to devise technically and commercially viable product solutions.
  • Develop designs for bespoke systems incorporating our products to meet customer specifications and requirements whilst coordinating with internal/external stakeholders, including contract designers and contract manufacturers.
  • Visit customer sites and join in with customer meetings when necessary to fully understand the customers’ needs and to provide technical expertise.
  • Make improvements to existing products as well as offer up ideas where appropriate on how products could be improved.
  • Developing solutions to design and quality issues
  • Develop designs taking into consideration a design-for-manufacture mindset.
  • Ensure all drawing files are filed and stored correctly.
  • Ensure project designs meet all relevant specifications as well as quality & technical standards and directives.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to a high standard to meet project timescales and budgets.
  • Prioritise the design work by customer and business requirements.
  • Pass on job knowledge as required and when needed to other departments and customers.
  • Liaise with the shop floor in terms of the build process/progress/issues to ensure that projects are delivered correctly and on time.
  • Have a Hands-on approach to working including practical abilities with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Follow all health and safety requirements.
  • Any other duties required by the business as requested by management or colleagues.
  • In addition you will have a flexible attitude towards handling the different aspects of the role and be enthusiastic about learning. As the right candidate, you will be highly self-motivated and resourceful, with a strong sense of problem-solving and ownership, and be able to demonstrate initiative and attention to detail.

 Skills and Experience

  • Engineering qualification (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc etc.) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar
  • 3 years of 3D CAD design experience working in SolidWorks / Inventor or similar

Experience working with and designing sheet metal parts.

  • Have a good appreciation for current manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects to given deadlines showing good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team.
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in client interfacing
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Engineering competence, both practical and theoretical
  • Be self-motivated and have an organized approach to work.

 Desirable but not Essential 

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with performing FEA
  • DFMEA knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge/experience with ISO Standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Understanding of lean principles
